Many years of friendship only need a thoughtless word to destroy it.

Many years of friendship only need a thoughtless word to destroy it...
It will never be the same again.

~When people are big and God is small
As a counselor I have reminded many Christians that a person is their enemy. Usually people did not want to hear it, but it was true. Even worst, many of these enemies were friends or family.

Psalm 55:12-14
New Living Translation (NLT)
12 It is not an enemy who taunts me—
    I could bear that.
It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me—
I could have hidden from them.
13 Instead, it is you—my equal,
    my companion and close friend.
14 What good fellowship we once enjoyed
as we walked together to the house of God.

Matthew 5:22
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be [a]guilty before (A)the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘[b]You good-for-nothing,’ shall be [c]guilty before [d](B)the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be [e]guilty enough to go into the [f](C)fiery hell.

James 1:19-20
New Living Translation (NLT)
19 Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 20 Human anger[a] does not produce the righteousness[b] God desires.

James 1:26
New Living Translation (NLT)
26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.

Colossians 3:13
New Living Translation (NLT)
13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
